From Josh Tickell (MFA ) Sundance just announced it's selections and the documentary film, "Fields of Fuel" that I've been working on for 10 years is one of 16 feature docs in competition at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival! It's been an uphill battle, and we're in! Check out the trailer online at www.fieldsoffuel.com If you know if people who give to non-profit causes, this film is a non-profit and donors get a tax-deduction letter for use with reducing their taxes. We are still raising money and still need help with the project as well as volunteers at Sundance. Please direct emails to us at team@fieldsoffuel.com Here we go!!!”
From Steve Samanen (BFA 94) “If you happen to have it laying around, the Thursday International Edition of the Hollywood Reporter from two weeks ago had a full-page ad for Walk Hard, which was comprised completely of nine album cover designs I did for the John C. Reilly character. The date on the issue is November 16-18. I designed 21 album covers total (and I somewhat immodestly think they didn't pick the best ones, oddly)... Anyway, it's nice to have my work re-used in industry advertising. Now where are my residuals!”
From Leslie Becker (BFA 03) “I am working on American Gladiators and we desperately need audience members today and until Dec. 12th. We are off to New Orleans this afternoon with some friends. It will be the first time we’ve been there since the storm, so are expecting a bittersweet experience. Our friends are jazz enthusiasts, so we have reservations to hear the Ellis Marsalis quartet at Snug Harbor, after dinner at one of Emeril’s restaurants! And will spend Sunday afternoon and evening with our kids in Pensacola before coming back to Tallahassee on Monday.
