Grand Slam Sweep For FSU Film School
First, Second and Third Prizes Academy of Television Arts and Sciences
For the first time in the long history of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences annual student competition, the FSU Film School has won all of the prizes in its category.
Considered by many the world’s most prestigious award given for student films exhibited in a video format, this year’s prizes will be formally presented at a gala ceremony on March 16 at the Academy’s headquarters in Hollywood. The FSU filmmakers who won everything in the comedy competition, together with winners in other categories, will be brought to Los Angeles, all expenses paid, for the event.
This makes twelve top awards from the Television Academy won by FSU filmmakers in the last twelve years,” said Film School dean Ray Fielding, “but never before Win, Place and Show.”
FSU’s First Prize in comedy was won by, a graduate thesis production directed by Cory Claffey-Koller and produced by Michael Hall, Derrick Cameron.
Second Prize was won by Jimbo’s A ’Comin, a graduate thesis film directed by Kevin McShane and produced by Christine Grund Craig Miller.
Third prize was won by My Body’s Revolting, an undergraduate thesis film directed by Scott Stanton and produced by Tim Rush.
In addition to their trophies, the first prize winner gets $2,000, second prize $1,000 and third prize $500. First and Second Prize winners also receive product grants from Eastman Kodak.
