Ian Weir

Ian Weir specializes in editing and sound design. He has composed soundtracks for his films as well as for other filmmakers. Ian is serving as Post Production Specialist at the Film School assisting the senior engineer and faculty in tasks associated with film, audio, video, and post-production equipment for teaching and filmmaking.

He provides technical support to faculty and staff relative to film production, and instructional support to students in the aspects of picture and sound editing and sound design, and on operational procedures for video & audio editing platforms and post-production finishing platforms. He also manages the ADR/Foley stage and supervises and runs audio recording sessions for dialogue, sound effects, and music.

Ian earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the FSU College of Motion Picture, Television and Recording Arts in 2007 and has an interest in documentaries dealing with human rights. He is working toward directing and composing a feature film.
