From FSU grad Kofi Oliver - Sound Designer Wanted for 15 minute short entitled "Hollywood Ending(s)". This will entail mainly dialogue clean up work and mixing in Final Cut Pro. I would like to have the film finalized by late October. No pay but great film for reel and/or credit. Please forward any questions as well as your resume and/or links to previous work to: kofioliver@akiaent.com

From Adele Romanski (BFA 04) “I produced a film this past Spring (THE FREEBIE http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1474889/fullcredits <http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1474889/fullcredits> ) which is nearing the end of it's post cycle and we are looking for someone to help us out with titles. Something simple, white on black, but with a little more style/class than what fcp can offer. It's non-paying (I know & I'm sorry). But if it's a skill you possess and perhaps you have a little down time...as you can see from the imdb page, it's a small project with a small crew, so hopefully it isn't a terribly daunting job. Anyways, if you're interested, please email me : adele.romanski@gmail.com .”

From Liz Rizzo (MFA 02) “I just took a six-month position as the Awards Coordinator for Sony. So far my favorite part of my job is helping Academy members on the phone, but I’m looking forward to working some of our screenings as well. Definitely would love it if alums would say hi if I sign them in! My gig is up after the Academy Awards, at which point I’m hoping to have some opportunities lined up to shadow a television director on a multi-cam sitcom set, and I’m also going to be pushing to find a new position doing something, anything in television production. In other news, I’ve got three completed spec webisodes I directed up on the web at www.earthforce5.com <http://www.earthforce5.com <http://www.earthforce5.com> > . You’ll spy FSU alum Brett Jacobsen (MFA 03) in the cast, and we had much awesome FSU work going on behind the scenes as well from Randall Waldrop (MFA 02), Christy Fiers (BFA 97), and Tiffany Moore (MFA 05).”

Nick Economides (MFA 08) is interning with Participant and Groundswell. And Rickia Page ( Charee Lanea) has a second internship at Simmons Lathan Media Group.

A Wall Street Journal article profiling Transparent Health's patient safety initatives showcased a trailer for their new educational documentary, "The Faces of Medical Error...From Tears to Transparency: The Story of Lewis Blackman." SolidLine Media (Michael Kromm, BFA 00 co-owns this company with FSU alum Gregg Vass) produced the video for Transparent Health, which aims to teach hospital staffers important patient safety initiatives and empowers patients to take a more active role in their care. The video premiered September 24th at the University of Illinois at Chicago to an audience from across the country. Health care consultant and author Michael Millenson commented on the premiere stating, "This is a rare film that pulls at the heart and enters the soul, yet also calmly lays out a set of well-reasoned suggestions that allow individuals and institutions to respond to what they have seen, heard and felt." The production is available for purchase to hospital systems worldwide at www.transparent-health.com http://tinyurl.com/yktmam8. Transparent Health has contracted with SolidLine to create 11 more patient safety educational documentaries. WGBH The Lab is proud to announce this fall’s Open Call: “Life Stories” (http://lab.wgbh.org/open-call/nova/evolution) <http://lab.wgbh.org/open-call/nova/evolution)> . Inspired by Nova’s spotlight programming on Darwin and evolution, this Open Call is a marriage of science and creativity. The Lab challenges the general public, independent media makers, emerging talent, and the like to consider their own compelling perspectives or “Life Stories”, craft unique videos, and share their vision with the world. When Charles Darwin looked at life, he saw that all living things—from the tiniest ant to the largest whale, and even human beings—are related. In his view, everything alive today descended ultimately from one common ancestor, like relatives on a family tree. Do you find this idea beautiful or disturbing? What do you see when you look at life? We’d like to know. This is a chance to share your vision with the world. We challenge you to make a three-minute video that offers a compelling perspective on all things living. Feel free to explore new genres, original concepts, alternative points of view, visually driven story lines, and other less conventional story forms. Be funny, provocative, and educational. Most important, be creative and have fun! For inspiration, take a look at our video short at: http://lab.wgbh.org/open-call/nova/evolution <http://lab.wgbh.org/open-call/nova/evolution> .
